Best WorkBuddy Award

Our technical sponsor, Tencent Cloud, will separately award special prizes for the most thoughtful, effective, and responsible use of their AI platform, WorkBuddy.

The award recognises teams that use WorkBuddy to solve real project challenges, improve the quality of their work, and create reusable Skill, Expert, Agent, automation or workflows that can help others address similar problems.

This is not a prize for using the most features, sending the most prompts or consuming the most tokens. Tencent judges will look for good judgement: using WorkBuddy for the right task, giving it clear instructions, checking important outputs and turning useful practice into something others can reuse.

How to enter?

Teams will need to submit a separate WorkBuddy Award Report during their final pitch deck and prototype submission. Details of the report will be release on the launch day.

The prize

  • Talent and Career Fast Track: Each member of the team will join the Tencent Talent Pool, with fast-track to Tencent internship and graduate opportunities;
  • Visit and Exchange: Invited to Tencent Hong Kong for an exchange session with Tencent colleagues. The session will provide an opportunity to discuss career development, product building, AI applications, the future direction of the project and other topics of interest to the team.
  • Public spotlight: Featured publicly through social media spotlights on Tencent platforms, and student, developer and innovation communities. This includes interviews, case studies, and short-form content pieces.
  • Official recognition: Receive a Tencent Certificate of Recognition and a Tencent gift pack.

Fast-Track Competition Entry

  • 8 teams (Gold and Silver) from each track will be automatically admitted into the Finals of the Techathon+, the most prestigious tech entrepreneurship competition in Hong Kong. The event is organised by Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP). Prize winners will also receive start-up seed funding and incubation support.
  • Non-winning teams can also apply for the entry to Techathon+.

Start-up and Incubation Pathways

All participating teams in the hackathon will be eligible to apply for the seed programmes through the respective universities of team members (hence mixed teams are highly encouraged) for up to HK$100,000 funding and incubation support from HKSTP.
