| 1075 | HKUST Ripple | WONG, Wai Ki Ricky | HKUST | UG | Ripple is an AI-assisted incident co-pilot for traffic operators, focused on Hong Kong’s Aberdeen corridor. It combines public traffic detector data and bilingual incident reports to help operators understand disruptions. We are developing a simulation-based workflow to compare response plans and draft clear bilingual advice for human review. Our goal is to reduce delays without shifting congestion onto residential streets or emergency routes. The prototype currently supports incident parsing and recorded traffic playback; simulation validation and measurement of potential benefits are ongoing. |

| 1126 | Green Genre | WU Yifei | HKBU | PG | TransitLab HK is an educational green-mobility planning game built on real Hong Kong transport data. Underneath it sits our own territory-wide four-step transport model (455 traffic zones; trip generation, distribution, mode choice and network assignment, with congestion feedback), calibrated layer by layer against 43 official data sources. The game turns that model into something anyone can pick up in seconds. Players act as the city’s mobility commander on a real 3D map of Hong Kong: they pick a start and an end point, by typing a place name or clicking on the map, and the system draws the line and places the stations. The model then works out how many people switch to the new line each day, how many car trips come off the road, how much CO2 is saved, how many minutes the journey between the two ends gets shorter, and finally whether the line is worth building. The game has two modules. Simple mode scores a line with one click in about two seconds, from 0 to 100, based on ridership, value for money and time saved. Advanced mode hands more decisions to the player: via points, station spacing, underground or elevated construction, frequency and fares can all be adjusted, and the model iterates until the result is stable before ranking the line by its 30-year social net present value. Both modules can be played with a fixed budget, and a plan that goes over budget cannot enter the leaderboard. After registering and verifying an email, players can post their scores to a leaderboard shared by everyone and open other players’ lines to see how they built them. An AI advisor explains the score and suggests improvements in the player’s chosen language, and the interface supports eight languages. We also know that facing a territory-wide simulation straight away leaves many people unsure where to start. So we are building a path from easy to deep: first a simple, fun entry game with easy rules to draw people in (for example, using feeder buses to bring car-driving residents to the MTR), then interactive lessons that add one mechanism at a time, starting from two parallel roads between two points and gradually adding road length, speed limits, capacity, willingness to travel and mode choice, and finally the full Hong Kong map and the complete sandbox. The sandbox itself can also be used directly in class. This is the website for your reference: http://43.128.15.246/?view=game |

Using a standard webcam and computer vision, it analyzes a patient’s exercise form (e.g., squats) in real-time, calculates joint angles, and alerts them to incorrect movements to prevent injury. Simultaneously, it syncs objective rehabilitation data to a therapist dashboard, allowing physiotherapists to remotely monitor progress and adjust treatment plans. We operate on a strict “Human-in-the-Loop” model—AI assists with measurement, but professional therapists remain in full control of clinical decisions. |

| 1092 | BRICZ | Wang Ziqing | LingU | PG | Some of the most meaningful connections in our lives may never begin — not because we do not care, but because neither person takes the first step. In a hyper-connected world, we have never had more ways to reach one another. Yet access does not create readiness. A person may want to speak, reach out, participate, or simply feel closer to others, but hesitation, emotional barriers, or social withdrawal can leave that intention unrealised. BRICZ focuses on this overlooked moment before connection begins. Rather than building another social matching platform, BRICZ explores whether GenAI and adaptive music can help people transition from their current state toward greater readiness for voluntary human interaction. Through personalised sonic experiences, low-pressure participation, and shared moments of co-creation, BRICZ aims to lower the threshold for one small but meaningful human action — expressing something, responding to someone, creating something together, or simply taking one step closer. We are not trying to replace human connection with AI. We want AI to help create the conditions in which human connection can begin. |

| 1104 | Team Smurf | Chelsea Theddyana | HKU | UG | Turning Brain Signals into Text Typing and speaking are still the main ways we tell computers and AI what we want. For people living with ALS, stroke or spinal cord injury, that can mean being unable to communicate at all. Today’s best brain-to-text systems need either brain surgery or a room-sized scanner, so they’re out of reach for almost everyone. We’re building a pipeline that turns non-invasive EEG brain recordings into text. To help the decoder learn, we use a clearer “teacher” signal: ultrasound of the tongue during silent speech. We’re also exploring a near-term route where generative AI suggests sentences and the user picks and confirms them with simple brain signals. This keeps the person in control of every word. Our aim is affordable, private, wearable communication for people who can’t speak, and in the long run, a frictionless way for anyone to direct AI agents. (SDG 3 · SDG 10 · SDG 9) |

It reads completed paper assessments (Likert scales, multiple-choice and true/false items, checklists) in their original, validated layouts and exports scored data straight to SPSS, R, Excel or CSV. A human reviews only the ambiguous marks. All processing runs on the lab’s own computer, so sensitive participant data never leaves the institution. This cuts per-participant data entry from over 2 hours of manual double-keying to under 2 minutes. |

By acting as a B2B2C app for Teach Unlimited Foundation (TUF), it scales NGO impact while personalizing career guidance: Phase 1: Gamified Exploration & Peer Discovery Replaces dry career surveys with interactive solo and multiplayer decision cards where students test-drive workplace scenarios with friends. It provides AI career spotlights, direct video Q&As with industry volunteers, and a local event matchmaker for live workshops. Phase 2: Actionable Planning & TUF Mentorship Handoff Matches students to degree, higher diploma, or vocational (VTC) pathways based on personal interest and family budget. It automatically generates a dynamic admissions checklist, pulling internal school club lists (collected from collaboration with school), external societies, and competition deadlines (Use AI to extract from the internet and other sources). TUF Mentor Copilot Compiles student interests, financial constraints, and action plans into a unified dashboard so TUF mentors and school counselors can deliver deeply personalized, face-to-face coaching. |

| 1122 | Rcube | ADIKHAN Bibinur | HKBU | UG | Foreign domestic helpers play an essential role in Hong Kong, but many systems supporting their daily lives remain fragmented and informal. On rest days, they may struggle to find suitable indoor spaces where they can rest, meet friends or join community activities. At work, household purchases are often managed using cash and paper receipts, which can make spending difficult to track and lead to misunderstandings with employers. Many helpers also send a large part of their earnings to support family members overseas, but they may have limited control over whether money intended for school fees, medical treatment or other essential needs is used for that purpose. Our project is an AI-powered platform that brings these needs together through three connected services: discovering verified rest-day spaces and community resources, turning household receipts into clear multilingual expense records, and allowing helpers to direct money towards verified expenses such as school or medical fees instead of only sending unrestricted cash to relatives. Generative AI helps interpret different receipt formats, categorise spending, explain information across languages and answer conversational questions about relevant services. Helpers remain in control by reviewing AI-generated information before confirming it, while clear privacy boundaries separate employer-funded household expenses from personal finances and rest-day activities. Our goal is to reduce everyday stress and misunderstandings while improving financial transparency, independence and wellbeing for foreign domestic helpers. |
