All teams are required to submit an interim progress report by 4 October 2025 to demonstrate sufficient progress on the hackathon.
Failure to submit the interim progress report will result in forfeit of the team from the competition. For any issues, please email [email protected].
Interim Report Questions
The following are the interim progress report questions:
Problem and Scope
1. What specific problem or pain point is your project addressing?
2. What research have you conducted to understand the problem better? (Reference supporting studies, statistics, or data collected by your team)
3. Why is this problem significant? Who does it affect?
4. What existing solutions are available and how do they fall short?
Proposed Solution
5. Describe the primary objectives of your project.
6. What are the boundaries of your project (what will the project not address)?
7. What assumptions are you making about the problem/ pain point and its context?
8. Who is your target audience or user base?
9. Who is your client (the group paying for the solution)?
10. How did you gather information about the needs and preferences of your target audience? (Including testing your solution)
Teamwork
11. How is your team structured, and what roles does each member play?
12. What communication strategies are you using to ensure effective collaboration?
Progress
13. What have you achieved so far?
14. What part of your project are you currently working on?
15. What are your immediate next steps or milestones?
16. How will you evaluate the success of your project as it progresses?
Challenges
17. What challenges or obstacles have you encountered so far? How did you address these challenges?

Tips
- Focus on the specific problem/ pain point, NOT just the technology.
- Ensure the solution is possible under the regulatory context (e.g. Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Electronic Transactions Ordinance). For example, when dealing with vulnerable or marginalised populations, how to ensure sensitive personal information is not exposed or hacked.
- DO NOT just build a social chatbot or mobile app. Think about accessibility and barriers of use for your target user (e.g. technical resources or capabilities).
- Don’t overpromise on GenAI’s capabilities. Be honest about limitations (e.g. bias, hallucinations) and edge cases where your solution might not work.
